Recruitment Coordinator - College of Arts and Sciences

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is looking for a vibrant, dynamic individual interested in working in a team environment dedicated to student enrollment and success. This is a new position, which is an exempt, 12-month, full time, non-tenure track staff role that provides an exciting opportunity to be a part of the College of Arts and Sciences.

The Position: As a member of the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) Advising Services staff, the Recruitment Coordinator will serve the College's departments, and interdisciplinary programs in identifying, recruiting, and enrolling top quality candidates from local and regional schools.
Comprehensive job responsibilities:
* Keep up-to-date knowledge of recruiting trends, as well as the latest strategies and tools of the trade needed to effectively reach target audiences,
* Excel in communicating with diverse populations, representing the University and College in a manner that reflects its missions and strategic plan,
* Work with prospective students throughout all aspects of the decision-making process and use effective interpersonal skills to ensure that the student is confident about their decision regardless of outcome for the University,
* Create and conduct specialized and personalized on-campus experiences for prospective students and their families,
* In conjunction with other staff, faculty, and academic Deans, develop an annual recruitment plan for CAS departments,
* Manage recruitment events on behalf of the College,
* Be able to discuss the academic and experiential learning opportunities within the College for all students interested in CAS majors as well as pre-health and pre-law programs,
* Direct the CAS student ambassador program
Further specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Develop and manage participation for, and at times travel to, in-state and out-of-state recruitment events for the College,
* Conduct initial academic advising appointments for prospective first year and transfer students,
* Assist with providing first time in college students with academic advising during new student orientation,
* Coordinate the College's involvement in large on-campus recruitment events by participating in and recruiting faculty, staff, and student ambassador participation in tabling, presentations, and tours,
* Build out opportunities for engaging prospective transfer students virtually and at local and regional community colleges,
* Manage the recruitment, hiring, and training of CAS student ambassadors, including running the application, interview, and selection process, team-leading a 1-hour student ambassador course, spring and fall retreats, and supervising student ambassador performance in conjunction with the Assistant Director,
* Collaborate with communications and marketing departments to further develop the message content for prospective students for the College and the academic departments while adhering to branding guidelines,
* Develop effective messaging strategies for faculty communication with prospective students
* Maintain current knowledge of admissions policies and procedures by serving on admissions committees and developing professional rapport with key admissions stakeholders at the University level.
